A Study on the Shape and Dimensional Accuracy of Additively Manufactured Titanium Lattice Structures for Orthopedic Purposes

The deviation between the designed lattice structures and 3D-printed ones has been studied in this research. Three types of were using SpaceClaim application ANSYS software then fabricated Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) via EOS M 290 3D printer. Considering orthopedic application, Ti6Al4V alloy grade 23 was selected as a material for all samples structures. A thorough comparison done on volume, mass, porosity to effectively map possible deviations printed version. shape accuracy printing process discussed during study. As complexity unit cell increases, becomes lower. Dimensional XY plane is higher than Z plane. Simple proven be more accurate process.
